Prologue

It has been quite some time that my blog has been idle.  I can't really remember the last time something significant enough to write down has happened.  So consider this my prologue, to the upcoming year; which I am sure will be filled with plenty of memorable events.
I am making a new years resolution now, to be resolute, and not flinch in the grasp of the chokehold that the world of today currently holds on the social norm.  I say be sarcastic, be honest, be blunt, be YOURSELF; and the rest will coincide.
Keep your head up; until next time friends, - Austin

Subtle yet significant people in my life.

Right now I am going to talk about the people I've met, that have not necessarily changed me, but have maybe made me laugh, made me think twice, made me take a second look at myself, or maybe even impacted me in a small yet significant way.  I know that was a bit of a run on sentence but you get the point.  Anyway I've compiled a list which is not made in any specific order, just the people that pop into my head currently, and can obviously, be viewed below.

My Mother: For always being there to make me feel better, and for standing up for what she               believes in, even if she is a little crazy sometimes. :)

Brayden Mcarthur: He's been my friend since I moved to orem, and has never made me feel                uncomfortable or unappreciated.

Johan Wolfgrahm: He does lie a lot, and I mean A LOT.  But he is a good friend and is always            down to chill.

Chelsi Ann Anderson: My sister, my friend, and kind of a tard.  She always laughed at my jokes,        and even though I would never tell her, she has a day changing smile.

My dogs: Yeah they're not people, but they make me so happy.  A doberman that wouldn't hurt a         fly, and a mutt who's breed is completely and utterly unknown.  Jupiter and Roxy, great names,        great dogs.

Shawn Rogers: He doesn't give a crap what other people think, and I respect that.

Kyle Hunter Takke: Yeah I didn't think that I would ever meet anyone who loved dragon ball Z            and Naruto as much as me, but life never fails to surprise me.

Logan Munson: Funny guy, terrible taste in music.  haha.

Jorge Mendoza: The coolest mexican I know, always chill and laid back.

Danny Gea: You can't stay mad at him for more than a day, he makes no sense, and that's why          he's hilarious.

Ali Sanchez: I love this girl, we can insult each other all day and it never ceases to be funny and          stress relieving.

Anna Free: Coolest asian I know for sure, she's super weird, and has the exact same sense of             humor as me.

Danny Torres: You can't hate him, you just can't.

Lauren VanCott: She invades my personal space.......a lot.  haha.

Stephen Bronson: He teaches me guitar and stuff.........

Brynna Dant: The nicest girl I think I've ever met, she takes crap and never bites back.  Mad
respect to her, I can't control my need for retaliation.

Tyler Garver: He doesn't care what anyone thinks of him either, and stays true to who he is.

Dallas Young: My scout leader; He's funny, he's original, and he still lives with his parents.  :)

Zac Kaiser: He's the reason I kept singing, he encouraged me to keep going, thanks man.

Claudio Sanchez: Yeah I've never met him, but I wish I had.  He is the maker of the greatest music      in the world.

That's about it, sorry if I missed anyone there are just so many that inspire me.  In essence,               everyone inspires me, and has an effect on
     my life.

     Until next time friends,

Criticism is key

I'm here today to talk about quite a controversial topic, criticism.  Everybody is always complaining about criticism, including myself.  But really, where would we be in this world without it?  It can make us smile, frown, laugh, cry, yell, etc.....
Really there are two different kinds of criticism, constructive criticism and negative criticism.  I honestly think that the way we criticize things define who we are, how we act, and what kind of person we are.  Personally I criticize everyone and everything I come into contact with, I really can't help it, it's just who I am.  My friends are always getting frustrated with me for being so critical, and they have a right to do so, it can be quite obnoxious at times.
But really I've come to the conclusion that it's not the way that we criticize, but the way that we react to criticism.  Some people get upset and try to stab back at the attacker, some shrug it off and really just don't care, some people bottle it up inside and over time, they explode, and then there are those who criticize the critics.  But we all have flaws and imperfections, and everybody makes mistakes.  Curse miley cirus for her subtle nuggets of wisdom.
But I say embrace criticism!  It is the foundation of our self esteem, but can also keep our behavior and actions in check.  Believe it or not, it makes us better human beings, and retains much of the social awkwardness of our society. So be a critic, and embrace the critics with an open mind.
     Until next time friends,

Significantly educational

Well I can honestly say it has not been an eventful week, and now that I'm back into the school cycle it's even slower than usual.  But alas, I have learned quite a few things this week; One: I type an average of 60 words a minute, yeah I own noobs on typeracer.com daily.  Two: Missing the first week of school can make your life quite stressful.  Three: I don't know how I would get through web design without Lauren VanCott and Kohler Fryer.  And Four: I am super stoked for dew tour.
So yeah You could say that even though it hasn't been an eventful week, it has definitely been informative.  Also I am thinking about homecoming now, maybe if you ask the right person it could be fun:)  Anyways I must go now and practice my radical skateboard maneuvers, until next time friends

American Idol!!!!

My American idol experience
Well I can honestly say that even though I didn't make the cut, the trip was definitely worth my while. To be honest I'm actually a quite timid person at heart, and was having much trouble working up the nerve to even sing in front of the judges.
Now I'm not sure if any of you know how these auditions really work but trust me, they are hardly in resemblance to hoW the television show portrays it. You wait in line for around five hours, after which all of the ten thousand hopefuls pile into a stadium. You then slowly audition by fours at one of 12 random stands, in front of two of 24 random judges who they hire before hand.
Now not to be discouraging or anything but you literally have a one percent chance of making it past the first round there, after which they trim it down again cutting it to about three quarters of a percent, then finally they do a little more trimming which cuts it to about a half percent. This select half percentile is then flown out to Atlanta a given number of weeks later to actually audition for the star studded panel.
I sang a song I felt pretty confident about being, "breakeven" by the script. I practiced the whole time and when It was finally my turn to go I can say I hardly showed a sub par performance. The nerves are the number one factor and pretty much screw the whole thing up. So they gave it some consideration told two out of the four in my group sorry guys not this time, which instilled a spark of excitement in me. I remember thinking, "oh my goodness I'm going through!". They then looked at us two and looked at each other and talked for a bit and said, "sorry guys the bar is set very high this year, please come back next year.". And just like that it was over, my dreams were crushed!!! Haha hardly, I never thought I would really make it anyways but you still have that sense of hope that maybe, just maybe, you'll get lucky.
I came, I sang, I met several nice people, and I conquered! I will definitely be back next year. I am very grateful that I had this opportunity and wanna say thank you to everyone who supported me. So thats it that's everything that's all, until next time friends,
-Austin

Love don't cost a thing........with the exception of your pride, your personality, your self esteem, etc.

Yeah you know what I'm talking about, in order to win the heart of someone, you have to bend and twist to their liking, lose every ounce of self respect you have, and compress your personality into nothing.  I say there is no, "out of your league" only, "out of your reach".
I want to say something corny like, "be yourself" or "who cares what others think of you".  But really, I can't; and the reason is simple.  Every single person cares what others think of them, and it makes it hard to be yourself.  But there is a simple solution, MEDICATION!  Haha just kidding, but seriously to get back to the original spiel.  The fact of the matter is guys, girls exclaim on facebook constantly, that boys are stupid, boys just want us for our bodies!(insert snobby girl impression here), boys are jerks, boys are r-....... Oh hey look a six pack!!!  Hey baby how you doin???!!  Yeah you boys know what I'm talking about, and here's the real secret.............GIRLS ARE DUMB.  I mean I'm not going on some sexist rant or anything but really, what have girls given to the world?  Hmmmmmm lets see......Electricity!  Oh wait that was a guy........Cars!!!!  Oh wait that was a guy too...........Anyone starting to see a pattern here?  Yeah girls were put here to taunt and mock all of us guys that don't play football, or basketball, or soccer, or something that could potentially some day bring in quite a hefty salary.  Ok before I make any real enemies, that girl thing was a joke, and that last thing ^ ^ ^ ^ applies to women as well.  So I'm guessing you people know what I'm trying to say.  Popularity and profiling are a thorn in the side of our lives.
So in conclusion I would like to say YES, be yourself.  And if you end up finding someone who sees through how weird, and dorky you are (yours truly).  Then they are probably just as weird and dorky as you, and you guys can spend the rest of your dorky yet happy lives together, living off of a normal salary, probably without washboard abs, with normal kids that probably won't get a scholarship to duke for basketball, or to florida for football, and you know what, that sounds just about perfect to me.  So what are you waiting for?  Good hunting friends, until next time.  - AUSTIN.

10 things that I currently just cannot possibly stand.

1. I cannot stress this one enough, girls why must you tweak your lips just so when you take pictures of yourselves?  It's not cute, and just makes you look like a fish without air.
2. BIG BUG EYE SUNGLASSES.  haven't you ever heard that it's all in their eyes?  yeah well how are guys supposed to see your beautiful eyes if we can't even see them?(or even your cheek bones for that matter.)  I'm not saying it makes you look like a fly, I'm saying that it makes you look like a disproportionate fly, and believe me the words "disproportionate fly" are quite an oxymoron.
3. iS iT cOoL tO tYpE LiKe ThIs Or SoMeThInG?
4. Stupid music.  I have no problem with justin bieber, or even the bisexual freak of a performing artist lady gaga.  What I do have a problem with is complete and total crap.  Last time I checked with a tribe called quest they asked sugarhill gang if they could kick it with a hip hop, the hippy the hippy to hip hip hop a ya don't stop.   Rap and hip hop are supposed to be about ryhmes and rythm, not drugs and women?  No one cares that we cant can't get a dollar out of you fifty, it technically would be impossible seeing that you apparently equal exactly one half dollar, so yes lets say you're a pimp, P, I, M, P and be done with it.
5. WOMEN.  Can't live with em, can't live with em.
6. Gentlemen of facebook, we indeed realize that you have a six pack and a cool belt buckle, but please put your shirt down.
7. WENDYS.  When are you going to fire me and release me from this terrible prison sentence?  (my mother will not allow me to quit of my own free will.)
8. America's got talent.  Am I the only one that thinks that the talent is hardly sub-par this year?
9. Hey look someone added me on facebook that looks nice and swear that they went to highscool! (accept friend request)  Be tagged in a post trying to sell high heels and air jordans every day for the rest of your life.
10. BLOGGERS.  Freaking noobs, psh.

First Words

Well I thought that blogs were only for girls.  Well apparently not, because I am a man, and have established a blog as an author and originator.  So why blog?  Why not write the events of you're life, and the thoughts of an idle mind, in a journal?  Because everybody wants to be acknowledged, and recognized for their efforts.  It boosts self esteem, lowers negativity, and brings about a new sense of optimism.  So lets fight the power and feed on the significance of words.  Now I must go and sign up for summer school, (FML), and try to enjoy my seemingly short break from the clutches of our crappy education system.  Until next time, - Austin

                                                           Adios my amigos.
