I'm here today to talk about quite a controversial topic,
criticism. Everybody is always complaining about criticism, including
myself. But really, where would we be in this world without it? It can
make us smile, frown, laugh, cry, yell, etc.....
Really
there are two different kinds of criticism, constructive criticism and
negative criticism. I honestly think that the way we criticize things
define who we are, how we act, and what kind of person we are.
Personally I criticize everyone and everything I come into contact with,
I really can't help it, it's just who I am. My friends are always
getting frustrated with me for being so critical, and they have a right
to do so, it can be quite obnoxious at times.
But really
I've come to the conclusion that it's not the way that we criticize, but
the way that we react to criticism. Some people get upset and try to
stab back at the attacker, some shrug it off and really just don't care,
some people bottle it up inside and over time, they explode, and then there are those who criticize the critics. But we all have flaws and imperfections, and everybody makes mistakes. Curse miley cirus for her subtle nuggets of wisdom.
But I say embrace criticism! It is the foundation of our self esteem, but can also keep our behavior and actions in check. Believe it or not, it makes us better human beings, and retains much of the social awkwardness of our society. So be a critic, and embrace the critics with an open mind.
Until next time friends,
-Austin
